Handrail Campaign

  • Dear Friends,

We all recognize the need to build a handrail from top of the driveway to the end of steep part of the walkway at our main synagogue location at One Torah Way. Unfortunately, over the past few years too many people have slipped and injured themselves or felt unbalanced, especially during inclement weather.

We are very fortunate to have the project supervised by a very reputable and competant structural engineer, Alan Hildebrandt, who is a longstanding member of our congregation. Alan will be working with and supervising the mason crew and handrail manufacturer.

The job will entail replacing a few sections of the concrete walkway which have eroded over the years, as well as leveling some of the concrete to remove all tripping hazards. An aluminum handrail will then be built into the concrete walkway. The cost for the handrail and significant cement work comes to approximately $10,000.

May I ask you to participate in this vital undertaking? If at all possible, please respond generously and quickly as this project needs to be completed before the winter sets in.
